Abstract: In the reliability analysis of structures, one must consider two major effects: (1) the resistance of the structures and (2) the load effects. For the part of the resistance, the characteristics of material and fabrication for members are very important. This paper shows the statisical characteristics for material including concrete ultimate strength, yeild stress and diameter of rebars which represent the material production in Thailand. The workmanship, the way of practice and equipment used mandates the characteristics of the member size and their rebar location. Due to vast level of practice in Thailand, these data are collected seperately for two cases: case 1 is from mid to high-rise buildings where the quality control is inspected by third-party consulting agents and case 2 is from detached and town houses in subdivisions where the quality control is not inspected by any third-part agent. These statistical parameters are also compared with those from Indonesia, Japan and USA.
