Abstract

คัมภีร์ปัถเวทน์ เป็นคัมภีร์ที่พูดถึงคำทำนายพระสุบิน(ความฝัน)ของพระเจ้าปเสนทิโกศล ๑๖ ข้อ พระพุทธเจ้าทรงเป็นผู้พยากรณ์ ชาวพุทธจึงรู้จักกันในนาม“พุทธทำนาย” เนื้อหาของคัมภีร์นี้ อยู่ในพระไตรปิฏกคือปรากฏในพระสุตตันตปิฏก(ปัญญาสชาดก) บางทีเรียกว่าพระเจ้า ๕๐๐ ชาติก็มี เป็นเรื่องที่สอนหลักธรรมที่สำคัญหลายเรื่อง อาทิเช่น ความไม่ประมาท ความกตัญญูกตเวที ความเปลี่ยนแปลงของสรรพสิ่ง นับเป็นวรรณกรรมทางพระพุทธศาสนาที่สำคัญเรื่องหนึ่งที่เดียว The Patthaveth is the Buddhist discourse mentioning about the 16 items of the dream prediction of King Passendikoson prophesied by Lord Buddha, well-know as “Buddha –Tamnai” to all Buddhists.
