Abstract: The objective of teaching the MTN301 “Hydraulics and Pneumatics” in Faculty of Engineering, Sripatum University is to deliver knowledge about designing Hydraulics and Pneumatics system. Most of the students are inexperience about the machine design. Students may not understand the application of Fluid Power, since they never experienced the industrial application. That may lead to misuse or improper design of the system. The purpose of this research was to develop the learning skill through Problem Based Learning (PBL) method and Authentic Assessment Method. The target group was the Mechatronics students who registered for the MTN301 in the 2nd semester of 2011. Result of the work shows the improvement of student’s selves studying behavior through the PBL and Authentic Assessment. The students also increase their participation in learning activities that is reflected the good motivation. The result also reflect the satisfaction of the students. The studying achievement is improved for 78.57 percent note by increasing of individual final exam score compare to mid-term exam score. In summary, this work shows that the PBL and Authentic Assessment can improve the learning skill of students.
