The research on “The Effect of Using the Flipped Classroom Techniques for the Subject of DES120 : The Introduction of Fundamental Design for Students in Department of Computer Animation and Visual Effects, School of Digital Media”. The purposes of the research are to study the effect of using flipped classroom teaching techniques in the DES 120 course and also to provide students with creativity in their works and increase their academic achievements. The sampling group used in the study is the students in Animation and Visual Effects Department, School of Digital Media, Sripatum University who registered in DES 120 course: The Introduction of Fundamental Design in the first semester of the academic year 2017, totally 15 students who acquire good level of grading with a cumulative grade point average of 3.00 and above. There are 5 people in the class who have the moderate grading and the cumulative GPA of 2.50 - 2.99 and other 5 students who come up with fair studied outcomes and obtain the cumulative GPA of 2.00 - 2.49, respectively. For data collection, the model of creative thinking assessment and four aspects of educational achievement evaluation which are 1) Fluency 2) Flexibility 3) Originality and 4) Elaboration were applied as the research tools. The relevant statistics adapted in the research consist of frequency, percentage, mean and standard deviation. The findings in using flipped classroom teaching techniques for DES 120 course represented that the academic as well as the divergent (creative) thinking achievements for majority of students have been raised up to the higher level as they had a very good performance in studying when compare to the pre-test and post-test averaged scores with the average academic and divergent (creative) thinking achievement about 3.93 and 4.60. According to the result focused on creative thinking achievement, the study found that the skill of fluency has evolved to a very good level with the average score of 4.78. Moreover, the average score of flexibility side was up to a very good level at 4.62. The divergent or creative thinking was very good as it turned up with the average score about 4.53 and lastly, the aspect called elaboration reflected the development of the sampling group as it reached through good level by 4.49 of the average score.th_TH
