The mixed method research design was used as a research methodology. Quantitative data were collected by using questionnaire and the qualitative data were from interview. The subjects were 190 businessmen who exported orchids. The results showed that the external factors e.g. human resource, physical resource, financial resource, marketing resource, and intellectual property resource directly had negative relation with the competitiveness of export orchid business at medium level. For internal factors, factor conditions, demand conditions, related and supporting industries, firm strategy structure and rivalry, role of government support, and role of chance also directly had negative relation with the competitiveness of export orchid business at medium level. The internal factors influenced the competitive ability of Thai orchid export business. The coefficient of multiple correlation was .936 and eighty-six percent could be predicted. Thebusiness. The coefficient of multiple correlation was .781 and seventy-eight percent could be predicted. It can be summarized that both external and internal factors influenced the competitive ability of export orchid business. The coefficient of multiple correlation was .936 and ninety-three percent of it could be predicted. In addition, the results of this quantitative research revealed that factors affecting the competitive ability of business orchid export were from the competitive needs. Since the marketing systems had high competitiveness, the exporters adapted to the consumers that could specify the quality of products and market. In order to continue the exporting orchid business, the exporters had to understand the concept of bringing the resource base for analyzing the internal factors and the diamonds theoretical model for analyzing external factors. This research showed that both external and internal factors influenced the competitive ability of export orchid business and also helped develop the business sustainably.
