This article examines the integration of Buddhist teachings for sustainable development as proposed by Somdet Phra Buddhaghosacariya (P.A. Payutto). It highlights that
post-World War II development, which focused on economic and industrial growth, has led to social problems and unsustainable development due to flawed underlying concepts, such as
viewing humans as separate from nature. Somdet Phra Buddhaghosacariya suggests integrating Buddhist principles, emphasizing the interconnectedness of causes and conditions that link
humans, nature, and society. This holistic approach requires mutual dependence to create harmony and sustainability.
