he objective of this study was to investigate the current instructional practices
and problems of Physics 2 for instruction improvement. The population were engineering and information technology students who enrolled in Physics 2 (PHY 212) in the
2nd semester, academic year 2010. The samples were 93 poor academic performance
students that were selected by purposive sampling. A research tool for this study was
a questionnaire with 5 rating scale.
The results of study were :
1. Concerning the teaching and teaching techniques ; Instructor had to explain
the technical terms clearly by using easy words to understand.
2. Concerning the instructor characteristics ; Instructor should say more about
the value and professional ethics, in the classroom.
3. Concerning the teaching media: Instructor had to show more the list of the
reference textbooks, the websites and the e-learning for self study.
4. Concerning the Measurement and Evaluation ; The instructor should tell
students clearly what quizzes or tests they had to do.
