The objectives of this research were to study the learning and innovation skills
development through action learning using Project Based Learning (PBL) processes.
The sample in this study was collected using stratified sampling. The sample was 28
third year students. They were students studying TMT335 International tourism management
course.
The instruments used in the research were learning activity plans, appropriate ‘pre
tour’ and ‘post tour’ assessment forms and group worksheets. The statistical values were
frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation and Paired T-test for dependent samples
and content analysis for quality data.
The results of the study were as follows: The learning and innovation skills
development in TMT335 after completion by the students increased significantly after being
taught at the .05 level. This shows action learning using Project Based Learning (PBL)
processes greatly affected their learning and innovation skills as these scores were the
highest.
For learning and innovation skills development, most of students who had worked with
worksheets activity were rated as excellent, while a few students were rated as good. The vast
majority of students could complete the worksheets and passed the criteria at a high level
(95 % of all students in total.). The results of performance based on the worksheets indicated
that the students could work complete eight of the eleven and the students’ quality was fair
(Group 2) and excellent (Group 1)
